Since introducing our iconic two-handled flexible tub back in 1997, the question of what to name it puzzled us. How could we market a product without a name? Considering the versatile nature of our super-flexible, ultra-durable container, the term “tub” seemed fitting. However, realizing that our tub was more than just an ordinary one, we sought inspiration from our friendly supplier, Red Gorilla USA. During a serendipitous encounter with our milkman, Bigfinger (aptly named due to his banana-sized hands), the term “trug” was offered. A traditional English term for a shallow wooden basket used in gardens, this word added a unique touch to our creation. Combining “tub” and “trug” together, we birthed the iconic Tubtrugs® brand.
Despite the evolution and growth of our business since those early days, Tubtrugs® remain synonymous with quality. Available on 6 continents globally (our sincere apologies to our friends in Antarctica), our Tubtrugs® have become a household name.
